The Dark Horde is a collective of internationally recognised musicians, vocalists and actors from Melbourne, Australia. Together they have created The Calling, a concept album written and directed by Andrew "Brewin" Drage.

The Calling is a musical narrative experience featuring a supernatural horror story set to an "eighties heavy metal" soundtrack. It is the prequel to Brewin's award-winning horror novel The Dark Horde, set in south-eastern Australia in 1989.

Memory is the sixth track from The Calling album.

I see myself in archaic days of darkness and the rancid fruits of my labour!

My mind is in agony, I CANNOT BELIEVE
How could I have acted? TO SET THEM FREE?

And create a legacy OF DEMONIC DEEDS?

I was someone who meant this, MY SOUL WAS BLACK

The visions kept returning to haunt me because they were my past.
In some archaic time I’d brought them into this world, not knowing what they were.
I only knew they were alien to this world and meant only to destroy it.
And I, in some “fit of madness”, had let them in.
